Giant wedding in Heerlen – a day to remember! 
On Saturday 14 June 2025, Heerlen celebrated a special and magical moment: the wedding of giant Lucius to Amaka, a brand-new giantess who immediately captured everyone’s hearts. The Giants’ Festival brought together no fewer than 50 giants and groups from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France for an impressive parade through the city.
It was a day of extremes, both hot and wet, but that didn’t stop anyone from celebrating. Afterwards, Leyn Weckx gathered at the Mining Museum, where the public could admire them up close.
We were particularly proud that the giantess Leyn Weckx, the Putheks from Heusden-Zolder and her motley crew were allowed to join this festive parade. We are grateful that we were able to be part of this wonderful giants’ festival full of connection, giant traditions, love and friendship! 💛🧙♀️
